What is Le Tournoi?

Each year since 2012, Jersey and La Manche Council organize a week-end of sport friendlies called Tournoi Multisports (Multisports Tournament) where players from the two jurisdictions compete against each others.

It has come about as a result of discussions between the county council of La Manche in Normandy and Government of Jersey. The 2 partners have held regular meetings since 2006 to liaise over common issues and development opportunities.

This year, more than 80 players from Normandy will be travelling to Jersey to take part in the 2019 Multisports Tournament.

The sporting event, which features football, LD football, petanque and rugby competitions, will take place over the weekend 21st & 22nd September, in Jersey.

In addition to friendly games, the delegation from La Manche will also have the opportunity to enjoy social & festif events such as watching the Jersey Bulls and Jersey Red games on Saturday and discovering the island (bus tours).

Senator and Assistant Minister for Economic Development, Tourism, Sport and Culture, Steve Pallett will represent the Government of Jersey and will meet with La Manche representative, Mrs Marie-Pierre Fauvel, Vice-President of the County Council of La Manche in charge of Sports, and sports officials over the week-end.

An officel dinner will be held Saturday evening.
