Window Display – The Atlantic Wall

This post was written by Anaïs Niobey

We are pleased to present an exhibition on the Atlantic Wall in Maison de la Normandie et de la Manche shop windows to celebrate the 81st anniversary of the Channel Islands’ Liberation and the 82nd anniversary of the D-Day landings in Normandy.

Through this window display, we remember the thousands of slave workers that gave their lives in the construction of the Atlantic Wall and shaped our coastlines for generations.

Thank you to Alex Fearn from the Jersey War Tunnels along with Charlotte Honeycombe, Malcolm Amy from Channel Islands Occupation Society and Tony Le Galais for the loan of precious objects and for their extensive knowledge!
